I despise fireworks. Always have. I see nothing to like about them. But I'm thankful to be in a season of life where I don't have any babies being kept awake by them, the current pooch couldn't possibly care less about them, and don't have anyone in the house with PTSD or dementia or who has to get up super early for work on the 5th. I do wish people would go to a public fireworks displays instead of shooting them off at home. It would be much safer for them and much more peaceful for the rest of us. I'm sure there will be the usual reports of people losing fingers (or worse).
