I whole heatedly support organized fireworks displays performed by professionals. I do not support average Joe Pyromaniac conducting his own nightly performance at midnight or later from mid June well into August. That's not patriotic, it is being an a hole.

When people decide it is ok to blow off illegal real fireworks at their house to impress their 4th of July friends there for a picnic is where I draw the line. These type of people have NO respect for thier immediate neighbors.
My neighbor set off real fireworks in his backyard. first of the sound of the explosives used for those that close is defining. And it sent my horses running and I ended up with a giant vet bill for their emergency injuries. :(
I just don't see the need to blow off fireworks in ones back yard. You want to go see fireworks either just look up and see the towns fireworks from a distance or go and sit on a lawn somewhere in your town and watch the display they put on close up. In either case the explosives are set off AWAY from the crowd. There is reason for that.
