When Ben arrived at our home in June as a pup, we knew we had to accustom him to fireworks. He made it through the 4th fireworks without a hitch. Then THREE FREAKIN' WEEKS after the 4th, at 11 PM, I had both dogs outside for a potty break, and some MORON shot a huge mortar round that went off a couple of doors down - I could feel the concussion in my chest. Ben *screamed*, he was so frightened - and that imprinted solidly in his little brain. Ever since, it has been hard work to erase that damage done.
Stuff that powerful shouldn't even be legal. Of course, many of us find burn holes in our boat covers (or if the boat wasn't covered - burns in the furniture) and we get to pick up all the cr@p out of our yards and beaches....
