Maggie RIP

Just returned from our Vet.

Maggie had been having hips issues for over a year...but this past month she has been having more and more issues getting around.
And then recently really deteriorated quickly.

2 days ago she had problems squatting......last night her back legs just collapsed when she was peeing. This AM she couldn't get up w/o assistance.

Debbie looked at me and said it was time......she needed to express that feeling. Dang it was a hard thing to do. We sat with her until she passed.

She was Debbie's dog but she was MY BUDDY!

Maggie will be cremated....that will be another hard day when we pick up her ashes.

15 yr. old Border Collie/Mix.....was a heck of a companion/camping/traveling.

Get them cows and bunnies girl.....git em!

Thanks to those that sent PMs!!

  • Byron, our thoughts go out to you and Debbie.

So sorry to hear it. Doing the right thing for them is so hard, since it leaves such an empty place in us.

May your hearts heal quickly, and leave you both only the many years of happy memories.

Hopefully Maggie will find Shredder so they can chase bunnies together!

Old-Biscuit I am very sorry to hear of your loss.
It is hard to let them go, but the memories remain.
  • Same thing happened to my Collie Sadie her back hips gave out. It was to the point where I would carry her out to the yard to do her business the back inside to the dining room where she would lay until I got off work 12 hours later. Other then her hips she was in good health. Vet said I had done everything I could do. Sadie no longer had quality of life so the decision was made. It was one of the hardest things I've done.

    God speed Maggie RIP.
