We've been dosing her with 1/4 of a tablet of Prednisone (1.25mg) every 2 or 3 days (based upon how well she's eating). We were a bit concerned since she is due for her next injection the day after the 3 day weekend. Our vet wasn't concerned about this and recommended 1/4 of a tablet every day starting the day before the trial.
I've learned that the serum levels peak within 1-2 hrs after oral dosing and the serum level lasts 18-36 hrs.
