We also use the Petstep noted in the above post for our Golden. Our previous Golden (RIP) had bad hips and back legs and she used the ramp with no problem.
First tried a telescoping plastic ramp from Petsmart. But the surface was a thin slick carpet like material and she did not like it. The Petstep has a very solid feel and non slip surface. Not cheap, but far better than the first one we bought.
