I might just be over protective but I never let my pups walk around on the ground other than just out my back door( and then that was only after their second set of vaccinations ) until they were fully vaccinated...I would be too afraid of them contracting something.JMHO
I know there are different opinions on this. My opinion is that the socialization & 'stress' of experiencing new sights, sounds, & people outweighs any germs they might encounter. Also the mom died 5 days after the pups were born so the DID get the benefit of moms antibodies and she was up to date on her vaccinations.
