Pooper Scooper hanger

DW has come up with a way to keep the scooper within easy reach when camp is set up. We generally pick up and dispose down the RV toilet. I have a very hard time with balance due to a bad back and bending over to pick up is not an option anymore. I don't think I want to lay in it!:B
This is how she took care of the problem of storing the scooper while set up.
1) She got a scooper at Target for $20+/-. It picks up in grass very well without pulling grass with it.
2) She used a plastic over-the-door hanger and attached velcro to the hanger, wrapped the folding RV entrance handle with the second part of velcro.
3) Then then put the hanger on the RV handle, hooked the scooper handle on the hanger.
This way we wouldn't have to climb down the stairs and try to find a place to retrieve the scooper every time. We can come inside, empty it in the toilet, then just hang it on the entrance handle without worrying about it falling over and me trying to bend over to pick it up. Works good for us anyway.
I tried to figure out how to post pictures but I haven't figured out how to post to the "cloud" or where ever you look for a URL address.
PM me if you want pictures.

  • Wife brought home some 5 gal. buckets from her work and I found lids that snap onto the bucket with a twist seal lid. I put a small garbage bag inside it and keep it near the scooper. I'm with ya on t he hangar I have trouble bending over but getting back up is probably worse!
  • You DIY sounds great but I wouldn't want a smelly scooper inside my MH or would I ever bring the poop inside to put down the toilet! :B

This is IMHO the best simple poop scoop. REal tall handles so there is no bending down and a simple pan and simple scoop that puts the poop right in with one flick.

So Phresh Easy Pick Up Small Spade & Scoop Set
    Less bending over
    Rust-proof finish
Works great on gravel, grass and pavement

I put a small plastic bucket down next to the MH with a grocery bag inside. The poop goes into the plastic bag, then flip one side of the handle of the bag over and then off it goes to the CG dumpster on my next walk.

I also have another small bucket filled part way with bleach/water solution to put the scooper set in. The bucket holds both scooper parts upright AND keeps them smelling clean.

When traveling the scooper goes into the MH back bay. Since it's been sitting in bleach it is clean and doesn't smell.
  • We have a small kids garden rake and flat shovel-------steel rakke/shovel with 3' wooden handles

10 gallon trash bag is hung from ladder on back of trailer. Tools are leaned against back of rig against receiver

Dog poop is 'scooped' and placed in plastic grocery bag, tied closed then placed in trash bag on ladder.

Out for a walk....poop is picked up with hand inside a bag then turned inside out and tied closed then placed in trash bag on ladder

Then when I go to throw our trash out I grab the dog poop bag and toss it in the dumpster with the rest of the trash

If you can retrieve a photo from your cloud in a recognized picture format like .jpg etc you can simply add this photo .jpg file to a posting photo place like IMGUR which is the one I use and it is free... There are other similar programs you can use...

This program will add the required HTTP address for the photos stored in it...

There is another program that someone added to RV NET that does the same thing. Maybe someone can post the link... You just simply drag your .jpg photo file to this program and it allows you to post it here...

If I get a chance I will attempt to get picks up. Just starting to get into the retirement mode. 1 1/2 weeks so far.:B
