ROTTEN TOOTH (Update 11/24/2013)
Took our soon to be 20 year old cat, Blue, to the vet yesterday because one half of her face was swollen...turned out to be a rotten tooth is her upper gums (I didn't think she had any teeth left)... ...

UPDATE
It has been 2 1/2 weeks since I posted this and our cat goes back to the vet tonight...her ear seems to have improved vastly after we switched to Zymox...
As for ther tooth...she got the antibiotic shot basck then and did not seem to make a difference and has never seemd to bother here in any way...swelling has gone down a little on that side of face but like I said does not seem to boether her...last vist the vet said if the shot did not seem to make a difference in her behavior then we really have no reason to take it out but we will see tonight...
