RV for one person and multiple dogs

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts! For me, a shower and a bed that I don't have to fold out/down/whatever are top priorities. And I am not keen on backing up a trailer so I am still thinking Class C, about 25-29 ft size.
Right now I have two Labs and two Border Collies, both Labs are elderly though. If I can fit three 400 crates in an RV and still have room to turn around I will be set.
It sort of depends on the overall cost. I am trying to strike a balance between being able to afford to move the thing, and having something big enough that I can travel to southern Cal or even as far as Missouri or western Canada to compete. The long trips would be fewer. The weekend trips would be perhaps one or two a month. Bigger would be easier for longer trips, but smaller would be more affordable...
My ace in the hole here is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE negtotiating with car dealers. Really! I imagine buying an RV is similar. So this should be fun. I need to be sure I know the market first so I can ID the one I want. I plan to buy used, but hey if there is a great deal on new I am willing to talk. ;)
