Our late Anatolian was one of the best dogs ever. Something to be aware of, however, is an Anatolian will constantly look to expand their territory. The are terrific border guards and are especially good at protecting against predators that would normally be able to overpower them. They instinctively only raise their aggression to the level necessary to make the treat retreat. If a raised eyebrow will send the predator away, that is fine. This is why they are the guard dog of choice in areas of Africa to guard against the big cats. Other dogs go on the full offensive and end up cat food. A young pup is going to take a bunch of work, but in the end you will have one of the best working dogs there is. BTW, don't expect an affectionate pet, that isn't part of their nature. Absolute loyalty? Yes. Warm and fuzzy cuddling? not so much.
