Wendy comes from Sivas province in Turkey which has a similar climate to Maryland. Her coat, while short, is dense. She should be able to keep warm; however, she has been showing signs of being cold. This may be because she has not regained her normal weight (she is still too thin) since weaning her pups; Sam is also too thin right now. We've changed their kibble to one with the highest fat we could find to help them gain weight and provide more fuel to keep warm. Sam has learned to burrow into the wasted hay around the round bale feeder to help keep warm. Wendy has not learned to do this, yet. One windy day she was nestled into loose hay on the ground next to the stored round bales. They both find small depressions in the pasture where there is thicker dead grass to curl up in
