It not uncommon for a dog to get those lumps. I'm assuming its a lump that soft and mushy, that's simply raised up, and right ... about the size of a half-dollar piece. Our last dog had a couple of those. Our vet was not concerned, it didn't appear to bother the dog and they never got any bigger.
Best advise, it probably is nothing but fatty tissue, watery lump, nothing more. But do keep a watch on it, if it grows bigger, there could be a problem. If it does not, probably nothing. Keep your vet informed. You're doing the right thing. Relax! Pooch is fine!
