To dah Choir! Pops' Figured IT Out!

As I mentioned, Pops, Grandma and me drove out to San Francisco last week fur a meeting. Well this trip wasn't any better in regards to folks leaving our carbon deposits behind. In fact it was more or less worst then our last trip to Fresno.

I mean it was sooooo bad at the Motel 6 we stayed at in Hayward (Pops couldn't find anywhere in San Francisco that would let me in, so the closest was this Motel 6 about 45 minutes away from his meeting). Pops couldn't help but step in it! THAT GOT POPS PRETTY GOSH DARN MAD! .... :M:M:M:M:M

I gotta mention, this was the first time Pops got out the alcohol wipes to wipe my feet when we got back to the room! Yeah, although I enjoy smell'in stuff, it was pretty bad!

What was that? ... Pops Solution? .... On our way back, instead of stopping at rest stops. We'd stop at one of those remote gas stations with plenty of open space next to it. Pops even took an exit, to let me do my thing, then stopped at a rest stop, or gas station (whichever came first), but I stayed in the car!

Dat's bout it!

PS I found out my stomach don't enjoy them 15 hour drives! Didn't throw-up or anything like that. I couldn't eat nut'tin till we got back home!

Calvin - I do the same thing with my dogs. We avoid the "dog walk" areas at rest stops - opt for a remote patch of grass instead.

The best thing I've found for nighttime potty stops, is a head lamp. One of those lights you wear on your forehead? That way your hands are free to scoop your target and you don't lose sight of it after dark. Also helps you find the clean spots to walk through....

Great idea, but I's already got one Mrs. Deb ...

N' Pops EDC's (everyday carry) this one on his belt ...

One day though, Pops' is planning on buying one of them Surefire Headlamp's.

  • I always EDC (every day carry) about three or four rolled up WalMart bags in my back pocket. Easy-Peasy!

  • We don't even hook ours on our leash and it's still not that hard to tear off a few and stuff them in a pocket We have rolls in my purse, my SUV, the grooming kit and the RV :) Poop bags are like lint rollers in our house, all over the place. Yes we have shedders :D

  • Yes it really makes me mad when we stop at rest areas and you have to be so careful where we step. I really don't understand why everyone does not have a poop bag with them if they have a leash. There are so many cute things that you can buy to hold a roll of pet bags that attach to the leash handle and they do not cost more than a buck or two.

I have on a number of occasion offered a bag to someone whose dog has just made a deposit , most then do the right thing at least while I am within eye sight

We will be on the road shortly so hopefully things will be cleaner than other times!
