Just a health note here.

NEVER put a muzzle on a dog and leave them unattended. They need to pant to cool their body, even in mild temperature condition. It is a quick way to kill your dog through hyperthermia.

Soooo... You are going to leave him alone for hours in the rv while you go play, and leave him muzzled or with a shock collar?
Forgive me but, sounds like your dog would be better off at home with a dog sitter or in a kennel.
Most campgrounds have rules about leaving dogs unattended in a coach while the owners are gone.

I am not sure what will keep the dog from barking the most, a muzzle or a shocking bark collar. We man need a shocking bark collar because the vibrating ones do not seem to phase him at all. He does not bite so I hate to put a muzzle on him in campgrounds. He will pull so hard that sometimes he will pull my wife down and I cannot let him do that. I think the shock collar with a remote control will work the best. Any advice appreciated!

If our dog is off leash at home he will not get in the motorhome but as soon as we put a leash on him he goes right in. I guess he thinks we are going somewhere when we put a leash on him. Hard to understand the way a dog thinks.

My dogs always understood that there were 2 sets of rules: "house rules" and "camping rules". The first and most important camping rule was "you can't leave the motorhome without wearing a leash" - which led to some hilarious situations with our two former campmates standing on the bottom step with their front feet, peering under the chassis to see what we were doing - but their back feet were still "in the motorhome"....LOL!!! Dear, wonderful Ike never wore a leash in "real life" - it was quite an insult to his regal "Aussie-ness" - but he was OK with it being snapped on his collar if we were camping.

I agree - PLUS: we have cut pieces of Reflectix insulation to fit our windows. This stuff is awesome - it blocks the sun/heat (or keeps the heat in, in the winter). It's like foil-faced bubble wrap.

The other day, I needed something from the 5er parked out back in the 86-degree sunshine - and I was astonished at how relatively cool it was inside the RV with the reflectix in the windows! I'd guess it was in the mid-70's? Certainly nothing that would have "cooked the dogs".

Disclaimer: our 5er is your basic white RV with some swirly graphics. If it was a dark color - the results would most definitely be different.
