Maybe they felt that commenting on the story would legitimize an otherwise illegitimate story. Sometimes it's best to just let the tree huggers rant.

Yeah, just stand on your point. Don't consider anyone else's reasoning. If you want to believe that Sea World is only interested in helping animals, I think BP and Exxon would have liked to sell you some lovely oil-soaked, ocean front property.

The officials from Sea World first minimized the attack. Then. when they realized this was a big deal- said that Dawn, (the dead trainer) was wearing a ponytail-and that was what got the whale agitated. Reminiscent of when Roy was attacked by his own tiger, because an audience member had a beehive hairdo.
This whale had a history of aggressive behavior. It's hard enough to manage an intake stallion or bull, let alone an adult killer whale used for breeding, as well as performance.

At the very least you should investigate Sea World's side of the story. The fact the story was on CNN makes it suspect at best. And I imagine now that you and Valkyriebush will team up and tell Rita that she shouldn't be winning ribbons while riding horses, reprimand Nabi for taking pictures of Izzy while she's all trussed up, tell BC Snob he's an animal abuser by working his border collies, will send back all your leather shoes to their maker, push for a ban on dog shows, stop eating meat and all animal by-products, and will put animals on a higher level than humans. Did they mention the trainer killed in 2010, Dawn Brancheau, was at least partly at fault by violating protocol? And did you read up on some of the "facts" presented in the documentary are, indeed, not true such as the claim Sea World takes all of it's whales from the wild? Darsben barely touches the tip of the iceberg when he uses the word "hypocrisy".

NO! While we are at it. We should outlaw leather seats, belts, coats, pants, shoes, and of course, No one should ever be allowed to eat steak or hamburger.

But most of all. We should outlaw dressing pets in clothes, and forcing them to stay cooped up in houses, and RVs. After all. they are wild animals. :R
