Not sure, we've gone thru pairs of laptops for years that we travel with and I'm not particularly gentle when stuffing cords in the bag and have never had one fail. The DC output side has failed but never the AC side.

Sounds like you are down to internet purchase and wait or try a local computer repair shop to see if they have any old ones kicking around.

It is broken right at the mouse ears junction. I tried Home Depot. I know why it failed. From being coiled to stuff in a laptop case. It is an OEM cord for a gateway laptop. I am trying to reduce the number of "irreplaceable" vitals needed. Or I am going to have to purchase a Peterbilt.

So I thought I'd look and see if a green dot hospital grade mouse ears cord was available. Seems to not exist. IEC green dot cords are around but not the mouse ears.

I haven't stumbled across anything for makeup mouse ears connectors. That would be tempting.

Since they rarely fail, my guess is there isn't much of a market for them. That typically means, you pay a premium for them to sit on stock for months or even years and results in high prices.

Might try a computer shop (as in a guy who works on computers and electronics. Might be a used one but as long as it's in decent shape, it shouldn't matter.

Is it possible to repair? If there is there even a couple inches of solid wire sticking out of the plug end?

Might try a home depot (or similar in mexico), they may have the plug end that you can wire up.
