i got one of these for 99 cents including shipping, on ebay (note: nt the exact brand or model, no blue plastic, but a thingy with two usb slots like that), and it works fine.
But a $4 inverter that I tried plugging the phone charger into resulted in the phone making a sad beep not heard before or since.
