I chickened-out and ordered a 12-dollar three-bay USB charger off the Amazon site. Supposed to be a 2.5 amp unit rated 4.5 stars by several hundred purchasers. Yes I probably wasted money. But losing this cellular means losing contact with a platoon of U.S. doctors. I also sprang for an eight-dollar coil cord mimi-USB cord that features (according to the hype) an extra fat and durable cord with larger conductors and reputedly much stronger gold plated connections.
Now the phone will probably die from natural causes.
But your comments and advice provided me with a great learning experience
I'll have the ability to recharge this power eating monster in the rig and in the toad. And my NOOK at the same time. These newer gizmos really suck on a battery.
