If they are all seeing and all powerful, what would I have that they could want? My 60 inch TV? Doubt it, they probably have one much bigger and better. Do they want to somehow cheat me out of my parks? it would be a lot easier and cheaper to just buy them or use eminent domain to seize them then it would to study all my various rantings and figure some way to beat me out of them. And why the heck would someone who had the world at their fingertips want an RV park in the first place?westernrvparkowner wrote:
The information they collect and use will be related to your viewing, shopping and other habits. It will be collected electronically, and you will see ads and content that relates to those habits. To me, that isn't an issue and may even be a benefit. Yes, I might get more ads for RVs and hard core narcotics, but at least I am not bombarded with ads for feminine hygiene products and children's toys.
No one is taking the time to watch your webcam. They are not secretly recording your conversations and playing them back at their secret black ops dinners. You can be assured of this because you are not interesting enough for that to be of any value, entertainment-wise or otherwise. All that data mining, data sharing and data storing is done for one reason, to make it easier for them to attempt to get you to part with your money. And as far as I am concerned, if data mining makes it easier for me to find the goods and services I want, that is an advantage.
It's ok, if that is what you believe and BTW, that IS what THEY want you to believe everything will be just fine. :B:C
It is my experience that people who see grand conspiracies everywhere see them because it is more palatable to believe their own shortcomings are the fault of some grand scheme conspiring against them than it is to realize their shortcomings are their own fault. Throughout history people have blamed politics, the weather, their bosses, immigrants, their heritage and countless other things they don't control as a reason they haven't reached the level of success they had hoped to obtain. Occam's Razor is almost always correct. The simplest explanation is the correct explanation. In my opinion that holds true as to data collection. They want to sell you stuff, plain and simple. They don't want to develop some spider web of data to somehow control your thoughts and actions beyond that simple goal.
Well it looks like they have done a very fine job of dumbing down America. :C
