I for one would like to come to the defense of the technology in Amazon's Echo. My wife is a recent quadriplegic. Without her echo she cannot tell what time it is unless there is a large clock directly in front of her. She could not turn on the TV, mute the TV or change the channel. She couldn't turn on a light next to her at night. She couldn't turn up the furnace or turn on the AC. She can have books read to her by Alexa. This is a very much needed boost in technology to help those afflicted with quadriplegia. Imagine if you were unable to move your body in any way. How frustrating that must be. Any technology that makes her life a little less onerous is OK in my book. If someone wants to spy on our life, I hope you have a strong stomach. Besides that, I know how to make a hat out of tinfoil.
