They cut off service until the next billing cycle starts. Happened to us one time and we bought a Cradlepoint router with Wifi as WAN and now track data usage in real time. We will get a notice stating that we are at 99.9% of our cap which is what we try to achieve. We are paying for 100% of the plan so we try to use it ALL!
This is also where Millenicom users are fortunate. With Verizonwireless customers have been hit with overuse charges in the hundreds of dollars and it would appear that some of these are often actually in error and the result of bad monitoring software at Verizon.
