We bought our MacBook in late 08 or early 09 prior to taking off to look for our retirement home. About 6 months ago I started getting a "your browser is no longer supported" warning from some of my banking websites and a number of entertainment websites. I purchased the Snow Leopard operating system update for about $30.00 and then downloaded Avalanche for free a few months later. Other than my operating system becoming out dated this computer has been flawless. I recently purchased a HP lap top for another project and after having it for about 3 months I decided that going online with it was a **** shoot even with good security software. The wireless connection was turned off, it was cleaned up and it is now only used for all of the data I do not want to ever have to think about losing to a hack. I do back up both computers but have never had to use my back up with the Apple. When it comes to a positive and trouble free online experience you can not beat an Apple
