AT&T Mobley stopped working -- SOLVED

For the last few days my ATT Mobley will not connect to the outside word. I show 2 green lights on the Mobley and 5 bars on my WIFI but no internet connection.

Anyone else had that problem.

I know my computer WIFI is working because I am on a different hot spot port now, but can not get on the Mobley port.

I tried to log into attwifimanager.com without any luck. I can ping 192.186.1.1.

Update:

I think I have found the problem, I think I have an IP address conflict with 192.186.1.1. Now how do I solve the problem?
  • i was using mine last night and earlier this morning with no problems
    so far
  • I'm using my Mobley right now, but I have had dropouts on occasion such as you described. Whenever it occurs, a simple cold boot/power cycle has corrected the problem. Sometimes it comes back on its own after several minutes...

Do you have another Internet service nearby? Try shutting it down temporarily. If that lets you into the Mobley manager page, you can change the IP address there to something like 192.168.10.1.

Change the IP address appears to work.
  • I have 2 MiFi devices, both of which use 192.168.1.1 and I sometimes have a similar issue. I know it should not be an issue as the computer is selecting the device and not the IP address but things seem to have improved when I changed the default IP address of one of the devices to 192.168.2.1.
I also set the devices to a specific broadcast channel instead of allowing them to select their own. I device is set to channel 1 and one is set to channel 11. (Only channels 1, 6 and 11 do not overlap)

Good Advice. Every device on a wireless network should have a unique IP address to avoid data collision and drops. Using a set channel will also improve the network since it minimizes hunting for the right channel.
