I have 2 MiFi devices, both of which use 192.168.1.1 and I sometimes have a similar issue. I know it should not be an issue as the computer is selecting the device and not the IP address but things seem to have improved when I changed the default IP address of one of the devices to 192.168.2.1.
I also set the devices to a specific broadcast channel instead of allowing them to select their own. I device is set to channel 1 and one is set to channel 11. (Only channels 1, 6 and 11 do not overlap)
