Batwing, amplifier, AC power?

Scenario:
I temporarily ran a coax from my MH antenna to the house I am remodeling down in Florida. I get a plethora of clear TV channels. But I need to disconnect the TV umbilical cord this week!

Went to local antenna shop in town to get a real antenna and they want too much and only guarantee 10 channels. They even acknowledged that the MH antenna's are far better. Go figure. :R

What if I bought another batwing and mounted it on a pole along side the house?

My question is the booster in the MH is 12 volt.

How do I take a batwing, add an amplifier from the AC power plug in the house? Can that be changed to AC somehow?

I assume the wire coming from the batwing is the one that runs to the DC powered booster right?

  • The amplifier in is the batwing head and requires 12 volt dc to operate. It feeds to the amp via the coax that the amplified signal comes back from the batwing head.
You should be able to get a small 12 vdc power supply (wall wart type) and connect it the amplifier switch/wall plate that should come with the new batwing system.
