This can speed up taking individual photos, the cycle time the camera requires to reset for the next shot, but not the actual image capture time itself. I believe that digital cameras temporarily store a photo in a buffer when you take a shot, then write to the SD card. So the faster the card, the faster it will cycle the camera. But will do nothing to speed up the actual capture the moment times. That is more dependent on the auto-focus and exposure times of the camera itself.
