I just downloaded it and was not asked... It did ask my to share my location.....not my contacts... On edit- both the iPad and iPhone were the same , no contacts

What phone are you using. I installed it and wasn't asked. And just in case I missed it, I just checked my privacy settings and it Doesn't show as being asked for access.

That is a logical assumption and probably correct but the explanation does not say that nor limit them to that type of agreement.

RoadAbode more than likely hit the nail on the head. If the app says something like Share this item or send this item to a friend, that is when it will use your contacts to send info to a friend about the item. No need to get all paranoid. I would be more worried if some no name app that makes your phone a flashlight wants access to your contacts. I always try and stay with popular apps, or apps from known companies. More people put those to the test to make sure they are not stealing information.

No. It is not an individual option. Meaning you can not say "No" to one of the following. When I hit install, the app says,

CW NEEDS access to
Contacts
Location
Photos/Media/Files
Camera

All of of those items have a drop down but that is only to provide the statement that it uses those items. None has an opt out or no choice.

If not usng the app is the option to not let the app have undesirable access, then I refer to my OP.
Location I can understand in locating a DW near me.
Files I understand as it must install and uses caching to maintain a "Shopping Basket". The rest is not necessary to give to the app. Maybe just lazy coding.

There are a lot of apps that ask if they can access your contacts. Just be careful when you install them and always answer "no".
