Camping World Prices - Internet vs In-store

I like to research different sources before buying RV accessories. How close are Camping World's internet prices to what is charged in-store? When I check in-store availability on the web site prices are not given. I don't want to drive 120 miles round trip to find that the prices were significantly more than ordering online.

I see your point and agree, unless the price was, say, double.

My question is, as unanswered, how much do the in-store prices vary from the online prices?

The local CW store has matched the CW online Price for me. Worth asking your store to match.
  • Just pick a couple of items and call the store to compare. I'm sure it varies but I would ask the store.

Only problem with ordering from Camping World on-line is they often tie up twice the price for your item. If you have lots of money in the account no problem, if not watch out. They authorize the amount of the purchase when item is ordered and then charge you again when it's shipped. So if you have $200 in your account and you order a $150 item they authorize the $150 when you place the order. They then charge you $150 a couple days later when it's shipped. If you did not have $300 in your account you could be charged an overdraft fee if the original $150 authorization amount has not disappeared from your account yet. Only on-line retailer I have ever seen do this.

  • Well, I guess I don't understand. If you like hands on, seems to me that the 120 miles would be worth any price difference. FWIW, a couple of years ago I needed a replacement Sleep Number mattress and found one on-line...but needed it asap. So I drove the (ironically) 120 miles to the store and they had the same mattress on sale for about 150 less than the on-sale price over the internet.

Just by ordering on line would you not save the cost of travelling 120 miles? I would see that as part of the on line savings.

True. But I like to put my hands on the item to check it out. Plus I like to wander around Camping World. It's not so much about the savings; it really about knowing how much I will spend as long as the price is not significantly higher.
