with T-mobile you can use both, it depends on the phone you are using. I use the Nokia 3500, I pay 20 bucks p month for unlimited access and there are even T-mobile WI-FI locations for free around the country. The Nokia phone has an awesome camera and video feature, it's better than any digital camera I've seen I took pic's while driving and it even has night vision to take pic's at night.
I've talked to many RV'ers, this (T-mobile)is definitely the cheapest plan. It's unlimited, as many MB downloads as you want, coverage is nationwide. I've never paid a penny more. 20 bucks, that's it. Live in cyberspace as long as you want.

Is the old way possible with T-Mobile using a RIZR phone? Also would the program from a RAZR work with the RIZR? One last question. Which would be better, USB wired to the PC or USB Bluetooth on the PC? Have to use the old desktop for a while while on the road.
T-mobile is NOT verizon , the 'old way' referred too is about verizon
I do NOT know , what connection procedures or mobile web , setups can be used with Tmobile
as far as actually connecting the tmo rizor too the PC, you should be able to connect via BT or via cable which ever one you prefer
do you have a BT output dongle on your PC ?
IF not, IMO its easier and cheaper to use a cable than buy a BT dongle and get it working with your old desk top PC
