I used to do that but gave up. THe nature of what and when I watch it did not help
NOTE: Chromecast. by DEFAULT will eat bandwidth, when I first got it that was not a problem but later in life I figured out how to disable that feature (You need the APP on your phone)
The "Screensaver" mode is a sequence of photos. All downloaded every one every time it is displayed.. I have not been able to figure out how to point it at my server.
Page 2. Though the Chrome case shows up in my list of WI-FI nodes. I find that I can not work it that way.. I have to connect to a "Common router" with both the cast unit and the casting device. Not a problem for me...
But I only watch 1.25 hours of network video a month that is "Cast Worthy" (Ham Nation 1/week and Amateurlogic.TV 1/month)
And I found that on the odd case when I need SHARP focus video I do better with the laptop screen than the TV. Better monitor.
