Yeah, we sort of got "brung in" by the ComCast offers after getting back from winter trip. Ended up with TV and BlastInternet for 5$ more than we were paying last year for just the slow Internet speed. Would be worth it if we watched HBO and Showtime and all that, I supposed. At least we get The Weather Channel now.
Back to your original post: Who exactly is getting the notice to upgrade their modems? Is it just people who rent or have bought them from ComCast, or should those of us who bought our own elsewhere expect to get the same notice?
And like one of the other posters, I sort of wonder if this is connected to ComCast's using its customer's rented modems to create HotSpots all over.
