Comcast internet modem
Comcast wants us to get a new modem anyone else get that email? What's up with that? Mine works good. Option to buy or rent. Comcast is known to charge people for rent after they bought one. It's hell...

Purchased a Motorola Surfboard router from Costco (same one as APT linked to) and it is great. I used my old router which was only a year or so old and working fine. Everything has been working like clockwork since. :)
Had no problem getting them to drop the $8/month charge for the rented modem.

I agree with Barney on this, wife and I gave up on our comcast router, we bought one that was highly recommend and it fix all our router issues!!

My dad has the same deal. Use to run great, now he has to reboot all the time. I told him what you guys and others are saying. Said he had the package deal that included the phone and needs the plug in. He has a cell phone also. I told him to dump the land line but its his original phone number that transfers to his cell when he dosent answer it. WHat should I tell him now?
