Personally, I've done this Corel method multiple times with no luck in re-installing Video Studio. Would always encounter an error message that a former installation needs to be removed. When it already has been.
Until Corel decides to fix their buggy software, I'd stay clear and get something else.
I did as you did with Corel tech support involved using their un-installer. I've now lost access to a video I was working on for the last 3 weeks. I'm now looking at other video editing programs.
