Just bought two of these, http://www.ebay.com/itm/HD-1080P-Dash-Car-DVR-Cam-Vehicle-Camera-IR-LED-Night-Vision-Blackbox-GS1000-/370771045932?pt=US_Surveillance_Digital_Video_Recorders_Cards&hash=item5653ad2e2c. Had tons of users/purchasers on another thread in Tech Issues of this site. Just thought it was time to add another level of insurance to my trips. Will leave one in the Motorhome and one in the Toad which is also our daily driver everywhere. I also bought this GS1000 and did not get a real one, after a few uses I saw that the quality of it was poor and it had no GPS or G sensor as it said on box.
On This article in Dashcam talk tells about the fake ones, near the bottom of the page.
Just a heads up, buyer beware on this seller.
Excellent article & Thanks! Given just the statement that the fakes sale for under $50 would probably label mine as a possible fake. Thus said, you get what you pay for. With a difference of $60+ between mine (if it is a fake) and the real deal and not having an expectations on my part of GPS or the recording of speed (lack of knowledge on my part), I purchased what I thought I was getting. I wanted something that would show someone cutting me off, the most common offense & stopping at a stop sign. Thus far happy with my minimal purchase but will reevaluate after a road trip. Wish the article was linked before my purchase but it is what it is. Thanks again!

An update on the
Dashcam that I bought from the same vendor as romoc.
After reading the article on
Dashcam talk I could see that it was a fake. The menu was wrong as was the processor that was a Russian ripoff. I told the vendor and they said it was their fault and refunded my money the next day.
So they are responsive to bad reviews.
Just a heads up if you buy from these guys. Check out the unit when you get it to make sure it is real.
