I use a kdlinks dash cam (found on Amazon).
From experience I would say that you do NOT want the GPS recording feature.
The GPS recording feature also records your speed - and I find it almost impossible to ALWAYS maintain the exact speed limit.
#2 - If possible, you want the dash cam to power up when you turn on the ignition key (switched power) - and NOT have to manually turn on the camera each time. It powers off when ignition is off.
#3 - Power source - the plug-in cigarette lighter type may have a step-down 12 volt to 5 volt transformer built-in and will prevent it from being directly wired into the 12 volt vehicle system.
If your truck has a "switched" USB port then you may want consider it as a power source for the camera.
Your selected camera should have these features:
"Looping" - it will record a 3 to 10 minute segment - it will save that segment, then start another recording segment. Depending on the size of the memory chip (which should be removable) the camera should be capable of recording approximately 30 segments. At the end of it's last segment, it will begin recording over the first segment, etc.
Cost will depend on number of features and reliability.
