For anyone interested, I figured this out thanks to info from a directv forum. For my portable tripod rv dish, when you take your home receiver box into your RV, as part of the set up you need to change the setting for the type of dish you have in the RV. For some reason, following some receiver box software changes, you have to switch to "multiswitch" first, before selecting dish type. As soon as I did this my set up and signal went back to normal.
