- kirbybearExplorerThanks for the replies. I had forgotten that DIRECT still has DNS. DISH has not offered DNS for over a year. Bob
- FlatBrokeExplorer IIYou can chage your mailing address over the net but not your service address. Call the number that is for moving listed on the Directv site. Took me about two minutes to get my locals and the popped up instantly on the screen. Few years back it took much longer because CS didn't know what was going on.
- afrescopXxExplorerWhen we go out in the RV I call DirecTV and have them "suspend" service at the house then give them the address where we are in the RV. They promptly give us the locals for that area. Headed home we do the opposite and our home receivers and locals are back. Just DO NOT say "discontinue service" or DTV will be turning off your account.
- edatlantaExplorer III have DirecTV's DNS so my network channels are always the same. This way I don't have to reprogram my DVR's each time I change areas where the local channel numbers will be different. I just set up my dish in the new area and all is well.
- Crazy_RayExplorerNO not at will
- Shot-N-AzExplorerI had them update mine on Monday. Will change it back to home address when we return next Monday.
We should be able to do this over the internet. - 2oldmanExplorer IIHere's just one post of many over the last 11 years pertaining to locals. It's in the Class A forum.. I don't know why.
Typical locals Directv post in Class A
I don't know about 'at will'. I would think, and some posters say, they aren't going to do it once a week.
For much more discusssion search 'locals' in this forum. - AdamBryner2012ExplorerHello,
Yes, but you need to call them to do it.
We change our service address all the time while our mailing address stays the same.
Merry Christmas!
