Directv code 42-446

Assuming I am correct that this is a tripod based SWM setup, there are a bunch of connections between the LNB and the receiver(s). I would disconnect each, spray with some electrical cleaner, inspect and reattach. If it's a connection that is never disconnected I would also squirt some di-electric grease in there. This grease should not be used in a portable outdoor setup as it attracts dirt and accelerates flaky connections.

OK OP back. Thanks for code, makes sense,was stopping at 98%. I agree that it looks like dish moved, and looking at wrong bird. However.. checked level on my tripod, and tape marker and there was no movement. Started over anyhow and got nowhere. Unplugged everything for the tenth reset, and went to the store. Back later to try again after store and flu shot and started again. DW says you might as well do another reset and see what happens. Ya..why not ( it's gonna do it anyway). I think you can figure the what happened this time. Guide did not stop at 98%, went to 100. Next I knew, I watching DTV. The leprechauns fixed it while we were out!!! 101,99,103 all over 90. Best I've seen.

I feel I have an electrical problem or a bad connection that will bite
me later. Oh..I was told not to try anything till after football season.

I started calling mine a combo TV/rain gauge. If I see 771 on TV I just holler "honey it raining" LOL. (Actually it has to be a thunder storm just to clarify)

If you have a Genie then you need to look again IF you are getting HD (and I suspect you are). You will see 99(s), 99(c), 103 (s), 103 (ca), 103 (cb) and 101. There's a chance that your antenna could also have 110 and 119 but that's pretty rare these days.

I have the Genie Receivers

If you are not using HD recievers you will not see 99 or 103. 101 and 119 (nothing on 110) are still in use for SD broadcasts. Lots of local Network TV programming still available on 119.

I don't even show 99 & 103 on my signals.

I would start trouble shooting at the antenna as DTV is going to tell you they must send an installer if you are not getting the signal they expect. They can't help you point it over the phone so you are going to be at somewhat of a disadvantage trying to get phone support.

110 and 119 were removed from standard English-language programming usage a couple of years ago, around the time the satellites at 99 and 103 began to be used for HD programming.
