A lot of confusing info above. The HR34 is SWM only so the suggestion directly above will not work. You can use your 18" round antenna with the Genie but you will also need to add a SWM8 kit to the mix. You will also only receive the DirecTV SDTV programming while using that setup.
The SWM8 switch will also require the PI28 or PI29 (power inserter) and not the black power inserter used in your home setup.
You can get info on how to setup the SWM8 kit here:

Bill, you are probably correct. I confused my H24-100 with the H-34.

Can I run a DirecTv HD HR34 receiver on a single LNB dish? I've found where I can select a 18" round dish, but it is looking for the SWM--which the dish doesn't have.
After you select 18" round on the receiver, tab down to the SWM and change it to Multi-switch. Mine works great then. Course it is not HD but still a good picture. - edatlantaExplorerThe Slimline dish can be SWM with the correct LNB. I have one.

DirecTv HD HR34 not compatible with Slimline dish. Need an SWM dish or other receiver type.
