To answer your question, yes, you will be able to move the Genie and a client without issue. Just be sure your installer runs a new dedicated coax to each location from the antenna or the SWM splitter.
As to the DVR "thing", I have had a DVR in my coach for about 10 years without issue (several DVRs as updates have been available). I now have a Genie and an H25 (watch 6 channels, record 5) which are still working without issue since I installed them last January (2013).
