DirecTV receiver only numbers on every other transponder
A guy several sites over from me is having this problem and I can't remember what to do to solve this. He has a 98 signal but gets no picture.

That's actually not true. At least with DirecTV. You can be pointed at the wrong satellite and still show signal strength. I mentioned that specifically since I saw an incorrectly pointed antenna come up with signal strength reading on every other transponder. Never could figure out what satellite it was but it was about 20+ degrees left of where the correct satellite was located. Maybe 72 or 77?
