DIRECTV TO DISH

Well I've been a directv customer for many years but enough is enough. My question is will a "TracVision" L2/S2 receive Dish Sats.?
If not what will I have to do to get Dish now. Its a 04 model year.
  • Both Dish & Direct are bad. Only basic difference is Direct has more sports. Not a sports fan get Dish. Sports fan get Direct.

DirecTV did that to us also. Have been with them since 2000. I called their customer service and they brought our bill from $120 to $68 a month. Good for two more years.

What kind of a complaint or sob story did you have to lay on them to get a nice reduction like that? We've been with Directv for about 7-8 years now and their fees have been creeping up for the last 2-3 years and I'm getting ready to change from one receiver to two for the newer technology so I'm expecting a pretty hefty jump next month.
  • Is Direct like Dish,....couldn't care less when you dump'm,......until they get an ass chew'n by the big wigs, then start call'n on the phone, cry'n like little babies, beggin you to come back ? I loved it ! :)
  • Sorry. Yes for the RV. When I bought the RV and added the Sat. receiver they didn't ask which one.

To answer your question, I seriously doubt if it will. DISH HD requires 3 LNBs to get all three sats.

    Not true.

From reading the manual, it looks like the TracVision L2/S2 will work with DISH, probably a VIP211 receiver.
  • To answer your question, I seriously doubt if it will. DISH HD requires 3 LNBs to get all three sats. You didn't say, and you don't have anything in your signature, but if this is for a rv, I highly recommend the DISH Trav'ler auto satellite antenna. One push of the button and it does everything for you.

KJINTF You may be right but I done jumped so will try to make the best of it. I agree I've read here an opinions vary. However they raised my fees to over $20 in two months.
