Just trying to keep it simple. Wouldn't he have the easiest time getting a 1000.4 w/EA LNB mounted on his class B. Then point it to east sky @campground and replicate the same set up he has at home instead of trying to do western arc sats on the road? (Provided he can see the eastern sky where ever he camps)
Other wise he is going to have to switch his system to western arc every time he camps and then switch it back when he gets it home. Not that is a big deal with a ck switch each time but just seems simpler to me. JMHO.
I switch between arcs as we travel based on where the best line of sight is. Sometimes it's as basic as which one lets me place the tripod in the most convenient spot, and other times switching is an absolute necessity to get a signal at all. We were on one site a couple of weeks ago, where the only shot I had was for the eastern arc, and even then I could only squeeze out signals from the 61.5 and 72.7 birds. Fortunately, those two had all we needed though, since not much of interest to us is on 77 yet. Where I am now, I could hit either arc, but the western arc allowed a better tripod placement. If we really want the TV on for the news or weather, we just use the OTA batwing fed directly to the TV while the check switch routine is running.
