I bought the vip211k receiver and Tailgater nearly 2 yrs ago. But since we have had Dish at home for many years I just added the RV to the home account for $7/mo. So can't comment on the monthly plan.
Set up was easy, at least in my case. I only had a single coax input to the RV for park cable. But inside near the TV was a dual coax wall plate with a short coax jumper across the two connectors. By removing the short jumper and connecting another short coax from the wall plate to the receiver box it worked fine. Just power it up and it automatically locates the sats.
I later added a second external coax connector specifically for the sat receiver so I could put the original coax jumper back in place for park cable.
For your information. The last time I looked at dishformyrv.com they were offering a vip211z receiver. The vip211k has a coax output for a second TV. The vip211z appears to have a component output for a second TV. Not nearly as convenient, at least in my opinion, for a second TV.
