Dish has two DIFFERENT remotes
Remote #1` is infra red and talks to the receiver via an I/R Receiver on the front of the receivr
Remote #2 (Says 2 on it) is an RF remote and talks to the receivr over a small UHF antenna on the rear.. I can give you the specs on the antenna if you need to make one yorur self.
Get an antenna "Stinger" (Cb Shop) at least 8 inches long
Cut it to 8 inches long
90 Degree bend at 1 inch from the cut
Machine the last half inch (of the bent part) so it is the same size as the center wire on a piece of RG-6 cable
Take the center insulator from 1/2 inch of RG-6 and slip it over the bent part,pushing it all the way to the bend
Insert in a standard Crimp On "F" connector (skip the crimp ring) and use glue to secure it
That's your UHF antenna.
