Electronic Road Atlas with Map Pins ?????+

A group of us are planning a trip from TN to "out west" for next year. When I travel alone, I use my Garmin BaseCamp to plan my trip by placing waypoints at places I want to see. I then plan a route and time at each waypoint. Then I look for campgrounds.

This will not work with a group of 4 families that have different objectives on what to see because it is somewhat difficult to share an "over all" view of what to see with BaseCamp. It can be done, but it is somewhat difficult.

Can you suggest an electronic way to in effect put "map pins" with labels on a paper road atlas? And then share this "atlas" on the cloud such as Google drive or MS One Drive.

Can one create a custom Google Map? It would be nice to be able to zoom in and out while we plan our trip.

  • And here's a step-by-step, showing where to click to make your own personal map...

  • I just went to Google Maps and made my own map.

You can see where you can share - by giving people the URL (or maybe password...I didn't try it). I added both points, and as you can see, notes, detail, and pics can be added...
