Eudora Email Woes

Been using Eudora for 15+ years and love it. Two weeks ago when trying to get email from the ATT server I get:
"Server's SSL Certificate Rejected: Unknown Error"

Today I started getting the same error when trying to send email. !#$%^!!!!!!

I haven't changed any Eudora settings, so logic says that something changed on the ATT server. I'm guessing that maybe a new SSL certificate has something in it that confuses obsolete Eudora.

I've forwarded my incoming ATT email to another non-ATT account I have, which works OK. However, sending is another matter. Is this something a "Relay Server" would solve?

BTW, Eudora version is 7.1.

    Don't use Eudora but it sounded like a familiar problem so I did a quick look around and found that link. I have debugged a few systems over the years. :) I believe Eudora lets you examine the cert to make sure it is valid before you import it.

    I have some servers with "self signed" certs that are used only by me so I can easily spot a fake one.

    Glad it fixed the problem, this winter has been enough stress for eveyone, don't need any more. :C

    Many SSL certs expire after first of the year and if they don't get renewed create an "error."

    What's wrong with their certificate that's causing Eudora to reject it?

    I miss Eudora!

    It had such great features, not available on modern email systems. But I eventually had to stop using it due to not being compatible with other modern stuff.

    It sure is a pain having to deal with gmail's poor substitute for filters, though.

    The certificate came from an ATT mail server, so I'm not worried about it.

    That answer is not good advice. While I realize it may get your program working again, what you're basically doing is saying "I know this certificate, which is part of the mechanism to provide security for me, is not safe but I want you to trust it anyway." The risk to you might be minimal, but it's similar to you not knowing a thing about cars and ignoring a vehicle recall by saying "I know better than you what's safe".

    You might want to check out Thunderbird at some point. The web has changed a lot in the past 15 years.

    Glad you solved your Eudora 7.1 problem. My wife still uses Eudora 7.1 on her 64bit Windows 7 computer. It has characteristics that she really likes. I admit, I like it too ..... started using Eudora back when they were offering the version 2 ... long ago. Only reason I changed was the plethora of new features I started needing.... available in MS Outlook email client.

    Eudora is and has been dead for sometime
    Sad to say, it was my favorite e-mail platform for over a decade.

    The latest "version" is really just a wrapper around Thunderbird.
