- wa8yxmExplorer IIII use a sunsetter aluminum flagpole
If you want a true mast type pole where you can mount a directional antenna and rotator on top.. let me check my bookmarks file
Got it http://www.disasterguy.net/17701.html
(I'm slowing down, took me 4 searches to find it)
These lock so you can use a rotor, very strong, higher wind rating than most flagpoles. - MNtundraRetNavigatorYou can add an in -line adjustable RF amplifier (Radio Shack) just before the televiision.
I have done this for the last 5 years. First with a Winegard III with Wingman and last 2 years with a Winegard Razar on the long mast. The Razor easily finds maximum number of signals with a front facing antenna or a scan facing side of MH.
No need to know where signals are coming from. The 2014 Insignia LED TV takes only 3 minutes to fully scan digital channels. - CrabbypattyExplorerI like your idea, but I boon dock at the beach so a dipole isn't very practical. I was thinking of a buddypole or the Alpha antenna, on top of a flagpole mast. This will be my first season trying it out. Should be fun. I also use two 6v T125 Trojans so I wondering what the power drain will be. When on SSB typically we only chat for a few seconds. It will be interesting exercise. I did just start doing digital at 30 watts less of a drain...
- WyoTravelerExplorerCheck out flagpole buddy . They make a 22' model. I hang my OCF from it.

These bull float handles aren't cheap but they are pretty HD

Then run the legs up into some trees close by. This to be used with my 100WATT Ham Radio mobile setup at the camp sites...
I found a couple of 3-inch aluminum tower sections that are a 5-feet long. I'm thinking and using hinges so I can lay this two section folding combo on the back bumper of my off-road trailer and when parked can fold both sections up in the air ten feet above my trailer. Then it can tie into the roof section of my popup trailer for more support.
This 3-inch tower is perfect to slip a 2-inch PVC pipe into the middle of it and extend on up to hang my RG cable and balum for my antenna. Like said I only need to get up around the 25-foot level for my radio ops....
You can get an idea from this overall drawing of my off-road POPUP trailer setup...
