Unfortunately, that's what you have to do on many sites in order to make them usable when using privacy tracking block apps, such as Ghostery. I've also discovered that these apps may also block useful widgets such as Typekit by Adobe. These allow custom fonts to be used on websites by allowing them to be downloaded locally onto a users computer, without the specific typeface being installed. Notwithstanding, I've found some alternative Firefox extensions that could be just as effective.
One such Firefox add-on is
Self-Destructing Cookies. Basically, this allows cookies from a particular website while you are using it. Certain trackers are also automatically deleted. The result is that you don't lose the site's functionality during your session. When you close the browser tab or browser all together, it will delete all cookies loaded from that site. So shared cookies cannot be used to track you on multiple websites, so long as you don't leave the website actively open by not closing that particular browser tab for instance.
You will have to whitelist those site that you don't want cookies auto deleted after your session. Such as for RV.NET, so don't have to log back in every time you visit. But very easy to do. Just click the extension icon when visiting a website, and select "Never". Done!
Another more potentially threatening type of super cookie where tracking is concerned are LSO or local shared objects. These can persist on a users computer as browsers don't delete them. You can use extensions such as
BetterPrivacy to manage these, which can auto delete on closing the browser. Note that utilities such as CCleaner also delete LSO folders by default. But require that you both close the browser and start the app. Note that LSO folders can also be deleted manually, but much more tedious than using an extension or app.
